Moscow. October 15. INTERFAX.RU – In the parliamentary elections in Poland, the ruling Law and Justice party is gaining 36.8% of the votes, Polish media reported on Sunday, citing the results of exit polls.
According to polls by the international research company Ipsos, reported by Polish TV, the opposition Civic Coalition has 31.6% of the vote.
The Third Way coalition, which includes Poland 2050 and the Polish People’s Party, receives about 13% of the vote, the New Left – 8.6%, and the Confederation of Freedom and Independence – 6.2%.
The media note that with such a distribution of votes, the opposition may try to form a ruling coalition in order to gain a majority in parliament by enlisting the support of other political forces.
Polling stations across the country closed as planned at 21:00 local time (22:00 Moscow time).
