Rules, transparency and competition must be imposed in state and municipal enterprises – 2024-09-10 13:04:56

/ world today news/ “In state and municipal enterprises, rules, transparency and competition must be imposed”.

This was stated by the People’s Representative from BSP LEFT BULGARIA Dragomir Stoynev during the debates on the changes in the Law on Public Enterprises. “Are we going to continue to make changes like the boards of state-owned enterprises are changing now, given that they are working well,” he asked. Stoynev is adamant that they cannot continue to be guided in this way, but principles must be established. “There must be transparency in order to restore the trust not only of Bulgarian citizens, but also of foreign citizens. It is necessary to bet on professionalism, and this is done through a competitive start”, emphasized the national representative. According to him, BSP wants these companies to be stable because they are important and strategic. “I’m in favor of unification, but they need to break away from political pressure. If these enterprises work on a market basis, the profits will be much greater than now and will remain here in the country”, added the left-wing MP. According to him, our economy after 2020 should develop on a different principle – on state-responsible capital, and not on European funds. “I agree that there may be imperfections, but we have to sit down and clean them up,” he added.

Stoynev also explained that this bill is the condition of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development in order to become its member. “All economists understand how important this is. We have a loophole in this legislation. More and more state-owned global enterprises are taking top places in world rankings. If in 2005 there were zero, now there are 12 enterprises”, pointed out Dragomir Stoynev.
