Ruhrpott restaurateur “accidentally” qualifies again for the Triathlon World Cup: day ticket

3.86 kilometers of swimming, 180.2 kilometers of cycling and 42.195 kilometers of running: triathlon is one of the most demanding endurance sports in the world. Carsten in Brahm (46) has now achieved what many dream of: The manager of the restaurant and motel chain Road Stop qualified for the legendary Ironman World Championship taking place in Hawaii on October 12th. Curious: That was more of a “mistake”. In July of this year, Brahm completed the long-distance triathlon at the Ironman in Hamburg – and was so fast there that he bought the ticket for the World Cup in Hawaii.

“That wasn’t really planned,” reveals in the Brahm afterwards. “Actually, I just wanted to deliver a relaxed race in Hamburg. Then I realized during the final marathon that more is possible. So I gave full throttle and came in ninth in my age group. “

So now the Ruhrpott restaurateur is going to Hawaii again. He mastered the Ironman there as early as 2018, back then in 10 hours and 55 minutes (daily ticket reported). If possible, he would like to undercut this time by 20 to 30 minutes this year. His main goal, however, is to finish again before dawn, i.e. to finish in daylight.

Support from long-term business partner. During his Ironman preparation, Carsten im Brahm is now supported by Gastrofix as a sponsor. The cash register system of the Berlin provider has been in use in the Road-Stop branches for a long time. In keeping with the partnership with Carsten im Brahm, Gastrofix has now started a campaign: Under the motto “Fly2Hawaii”, the company is raffling off all new customers who register by 12.12. sign a contract with the Berlin cash register provider, a 15-day trip to Hawaii for 2 people to the Ironman 2020. It is worth around 7,000 euros. Further information: www.gastrofix.com/de/fly2hawaii.
