According to the organizer, around 33,000 visitors met on Saturday (July 1st) in Oberhausen’s Olga Park for the Ruhr in Love music festival. Most visitors used public transport and additional shuttle buses for arrival and departure.
For the police, the safety of the people around the techno party was the priority again this year. In the fight against illegal drug use and trafficking in narcotics, drug investigators and police officers in uniform were on duty on the festival grounds, but also in the run-up to the entire city area.
In particular, they targeted trafficking in illegal drugs and driving under the influence of drugs and alcohol.
From the police point of view, the event was pleasantly quiet.
Police officers initiated more than 450 criminal proceedings for violations of the Narcotics Act and seized the drugs found in this connection, in particular 40 Blue/Red Punishers and a large quantity of Ecstasy tablets as well as small quantities of marijuana, cocaine and amphetamine
Ten other criminal charges, including three for resisting law enforcement officials, were also filed.
Overall, there were no further disruptions worth mentioning on the return journey of the festival visitors.
By the end of the event, a total of 15 people had been arrested or taken into custody.
