Ruggi, a female resident attacked by a man

A trainee in service at theSan Giovanni di Dio and Ruggi d’Aragona hospitala Salernowas verbally attacked by a man who then punched a door, also breaking the glass. The incident occurred last Saturday, but was only learned today from hospital sources. The man left immediately afterwards and therefore it was not possible to identify him. He was in the Department of Pediatrics together with two children, one of whom – about two months old – had probable intestinal problems but had not yet been examined.

The strategic direction of theHospital company “expresses deep indignation and firm condemnation” for the episode and “expresses its closeness to the specialists and to all the staff involved daily in the healthcare facilities, in carrying out their work. The Company – we read in a note – in confirming its commitment to promoting every possible initiative aimed at countering acts of violence, invites users and their families to show solidarity towards all medical and healthcare personnel, in order to allow each one to perform their best in the primary interest of the patient“.
