The creation of a new division, the “Nationale”, was initiated by the French Rugby Federation. The Stade Dijonnais will evolve there.
Like other competitions in other sports, the 2019-2020 Federal 1 has not come to an end. But next season, the Nationale will be played for Stade Dijonnais, a new division bringing together the 14 best teams from Fédérale 1. In a press release, Stade Dijonnais – 2nd in its pool at the end of the championship mid- March – expresses his pleasure to be there, like an additional step in his ambitions to access the Pro D2.
Recruitment level, we have noticed that the Dijon club is active to present again a competitive group at the start of the next season (find our article by clicking here).

We have the great pleasure and honor to officially announce the creation of a new division in which Stade Dijonnais will play for the 2020-2021 season, the “National” division. This new division brings together the 14 best teams of Fédérale 1. All the details of the organization will be revealed by the French Rugby Federation on June 16. This is a whole new adventure that begins for Stade Dijonnais, the Espoirs are also promoted, since they will have the same schedule and will face the same clubs as the First Team.
The matches of this new division will be televised, the scope of these matches will echo throughout France, and we will do our best to promote our beautiful city of Dijon and our partners on a national scale. We therefore exclusively give you the list of selected clubs:

• Bourg-en-Bresse
• Bourgoin
• Chambéry
• Cognac – Saint-Jean-d´Angély
• Dax
• Dijon
• Massy
• Narbonne
• Nice
• Suresnes
• Tarbes
Regarding the rules of this new division, there will obviously be a first leg and a second leg, the first 2 are directly qualified for the semi-finals, the 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th will play off for the 2 other places in the semi-finals. The 2 finalists will go up in Pro D2. Conversely, the relegation system is direct, with the relegation of the last two in the division after the regular phase.
