The Makis Ladies suffered a double defeat yesterday on behalf of the second phase of the “World Rugby Sevens Challenger Series 2023” (WRCTS) tournament which has been taking place since last week in South Africa. For their first match yesterday, the Malagasy rugbywomen could not hold their own against the Thailand team with a score of 19 to 17 at Markotter Stadium. However, Nasandratra and her teammates started the game well by leading 7-5 before the break. They lost their concentration and were stuck on this score. The South African team has confirmed its hegemony in this tournament. She pulverized the formation of Paraguay by 29 to 0 before winning against Ladies Makis by 19 to 5 yesterday. After these two defeats, the Makis are moving away from their qualification for the next stage. Indeed, the Malagasy have obtained only one victory in five matches since this tournament. They will play their last match against the Paraguay team today. “The players had difficulty adapting to the cold climate. The ground was also slippery due to the rain.
