The supremacy of the southern hemisphere will be disputed from next August 6 between the New Zealandl’South Africal’Australia and theArgentine under the Rugby Championship. On this occasion, the staffs of the Pumas and the Wallabies unveiled their lists for the first two meetings which will take place in Mendoza and San Juan.
Clermont will have to do without its Australian rookie
Among the Australians we find the former Toulousain Rory Arnold but also and above all the center, new recruit from Clermont Simon’s anger who will miss the start of the Top 14. The Australians will first travel twice to Argentina, then host the South African world champions twice before facing New Zealand at home and then away.
Sixteen Top 14 and Pro D2 players with the Pumas
On their side the Argentinians have chosen to call 16 players playing in one of the first two professional divisions of French rugby. Rodrigo Bruni and Lucas Paulos (Brive), Santiago Cordero (UBB), Tomas Cubelli (Biarritz), Jeronimo De La Fuente and Joaquin Oviedo (Perpignan), Francisco Gómez Kodela (Lyon), Juan Imhoff (Racing 92), Facundo Isa (Toulon ), Marcos Kremer and Nicolas Sanchez (Stade français), Tomas Lavanini (Clermont), Lucas Mensa (Mont-de-Marsan), Joel Sclavi (La Rochelle) and Benjamin Urdapilleta (Castres) are called up on Michael Cheika’s list. There will therefore be 14 players from Top 14 and two from Pro D2 for these first two games who will miss the resumption of the French championship.
Argentina, having faced Australia twice, will travel to New Zealand for two matches before playing home and away against South Africa.
