On November 20, in a stadium of France in fusion, the XV of France offered the scalp of the All Blacks (40-25), at the conclusion of the traditional autumn tour: If it is very exaggerated to say that the rugby players in Chartres have contributed to this prestigious success, but they have all the same made their contribution to the building. Because to prepare for the tackles of the formidable New Zealanders, Antoine Dupont and his partners relied on the residents of Fédérale 1 at the end of October. The immersion of the Chartrains in Marcoussis, in the holy of holies, lasted two days and left memories forever.
C’Chartres Rugby will be a training partner of the XV of France for two days
Initially, this privileged role of training partner was to return to the Bourgoin-Jallieu club. When the Isérois declined, the Chartrains jumped at the chance: spending 48 hours with some of the best players in the world, you can’t refuse.
“It was a unique and very enriching experience,” sums up Renaud Gourdon, the Eurelian coach. Fabien Galthié and his staff put us in the best possible conditions. They were awesome and I think we all made the most of them. We had our eyes everywhere and our ears wide open to register as much information as possible. “

In practice, the C’Chartres Rugby players made themselves available to the coach with the big dark glasses, requisitioned according to the workshops and the themes on the program.
“We work better if we have more players to accompany us, Fabien Galthié slipped that day, at the very end of the session. Les Chartrains allowed us to work as efficiently as possible. Thanks to them, we were able to put our exercises in place, our method. Sometimes they were defenders, sometimes they were attackers. And when we were 15 against 15, they allowed us to complete the team and work better. “
“We got to chat with them between exercises or at the end of the session, and it was really cool. We learned a lot of things, and in particular on the rigor required by the high level. “

While originally supposed to be resting that weekend, CCR fans played the game with gusto and respect. Maybe a little too much at the start: “At the beginning, we were a little amazed, we watched them for half an hour, says the young scrum-half, Simon Aboumejd. I think there was a bit of apprehension in being faced with these players. And then we said to ourselves that we had to go, that they had two arms and two legs, like us. “
The fabulous experience of the rugby players of Chartres with the XV of France
Two arms, two legs and a keen sense of sharing. “The guys were good,” continues Aboumedj. “We were able to chat with them between exercises or at the end of the session, and it was really cool,” says Julien Hamiaux. We learned a lot of things, and in particular on the rigor required by the high level. The Chartrains even had the right to a coaching session with Fabien Galthié and his assistants. The kind of training that you only experience once in your career when you are a Federal 1 player …
