Rugby: Azéma released by Clermont, future coach of the MHR?

Clermont manager Franck Azéma will not go to the end of his contract. He could bounce back in Montpellier next season.

The information was made official on Monday, February 22: while his lease with Clermont ran until 2023, manager Franck Azéma asked – and obtained – from his management to be released from his last two years of contract.

From there to sending him directly to Montpellier next season, there is only one step that could be taken in the coming weeks. And for good reason: Azéma is at the top of the list of the president of the MHR, Mohed Altrad, in search of a new trainer in 2021-22, who would succeed Philippe Saint-André.

After eleven seasons spent with the Jaunards, with a title of champion of France 2017 and three finals of the European Cup (2013, 2015, 2017), Franck Azéma is among the best technicians of the Top 14. With, now, of new challenges on the horizon.
