World champions South Africa also win their second game in the Rugby Autumn Nations Series. In London, however, England is putting up strong resistance.
World champions South Africa also won their second game in the Rugby Autumn Nations Series. A week after the victory in Scotland, the Springboks also triumphed in England, winning 29-20. The English suffered their third defeat in the third game of the test match series.
At the Twickenham Stadium in London, the hosts proved to be almost equal. After just three minutes, Ollie Sleightholme gave England the lead with his first try of the game.
South Africa took a while to get into the game but scored three tries between the 10th and 22nd minutes. However, England held on and reduced the lead to 17:19 with another try before half-time.
Little that counted happened in the second half; the world champion countered a penalty kick by the English to take the lead seven minutes later with a kick of his own through the bars. A high attempt by Cheslin Kolbe (63′) ensured the decision, and even a ten-minute advantage for England did not change the result.
Scotland easily wins against Portugal
Scotland had previously reported back with a victory. The Scots showed a show of force against Portugal in their 59:21 win.
At the Murrayfield Stadium in Edinburgh, the hosts dominated the action from the start. The Scots had five tries in the first half, three of which included a raise. We went into the break with a clear 33:7.
In the second half, however, the Portuguese got into the game better and defended themselves to the best of their ability in their only appearance in the autumn series. However, the Scots were never in trouble.
There is another exciting game on the program on Saturday evening. At 9:10 p.m. there will be a duel between France and New Zealand at the Stade de France in Paris.
