TVA will broadcast the episode of Rue King in which Julien Lacroix appears this fall.
This decision comes a few days after the publication of an article in the Duty in which nine women blame the stand-up comical sexual misconduct and assault.
In an email sent to Journal, TVA explains its choice by noting that Rue King is “an excellent production”, the fruit of the work “of several local artists, creators and producers”.
“We recognize the value of the work of these craftsmen and are of the opinion that all of them do not deserve to be penalized for the appearance of the comedian as a guest in a single episode”, indicates VAT.
Julien Lacroix appears in the credits of the very first episode of Rue King. He plays one of the people Marie-Ève (Marie-Ève Morency) and Pier-Luc (Pier-Luc Funk) considered as a potential new roommate, before they selected Sophie (Sophie Cadieux).
Not withdrawn
The first season of Rue King, a sitcom improvised, has been available to Club illico subscribers for almost three months. TVA announced Thursday that it will air it this fall.
The fictions in which Julien Lacroix appeared in recent years were not removed from viewing platforms at the start of the week, in accordance with requests from various associations (AQTIS, ARRQ, SARTEC), who find it unfair that an entire team pays for an individual’s actions.
