Rüdiger Fahrig and Gerhard Vogt received an award in Brakel: blood donations are still important – Brakel

Unfortunately, an honor in the usual context, combined with a coffee drink, was not possible due to the corona. The other blood donors were personally sent their badges and certificates.

There are many ways to help others. Donating your own blood is not only something special, it is also extremely important. The need for blood preparations is steadily increasing.

Helmut Springer, chairman of the local DRK association Brakel, says that it is very important to continue donating blood, especially now during the corona pandemic. In order to curb the spread of the corona virus, drastic measures were introduced across Germany to reduce social contacts. However, blood donations are one of the areas of health care that must be continued despite the measures taken to contain the pandemic, with appropriate precautions.

1336 blood donations in 2020

This also shows the willingness to donate blood. 1336 blood donations were recorded in Brakel, Bellersen and Beller in 2020. There were 781 donors in Brakel alone. Helmut Springer also introduced the blood donation guides Ramona Ellebrecht, Karl Eggers, Patrick Eggers, Michael Weinreich and Barbara Eggers, who were specially trained in seminars (online). The blood donation guide takes on the important role because he is the first point of contact for blood donors even before registration. All blood donation appointments are processed via the appointment registration system (TRS) so that waiting times are shortened and crowds are prevented. The blood donor guide organizes the donor flow.

Thanks also went to the volunteers who packed loving packed lunches, because a snack is unfortunately not possible at the moment.

The Red Cross Youth of the DRK Brakel lovingly painted the bags of the packed lunches and provided them with wishes for the blood donors.

The commitment of Rüdiger Fahrig and Gerhard Vogt, who have already donated blood 125 times, is outstanding. Hildegard Rolf and Klaus Jax donated blood 100 times, Ulrike Israelsohn, Wilhelm Krawinkel, Dan Verschoore, Markus Wiedermeier, Michael Weinreich 75 times, Ernst-Josef Scheid, Norbert Tappe, Katrin Böske, Bianca Balke, Christain Neu, Benedikt Prohn and Katra 50 times Huebner.

Peter Derksen, Andrea Husemann, Tobias Hantke, Andrea Thielemeyer, Verena Käsling, Bernadette Fromme, Martin Sievers, Antonius Stamm, Silvia Wiegand, Andrea Dorosala, Julia Verena Schrader and Natalie Derenthal have donated blood 25 times.

All honorees received a badge of honor, a certificate and a voucher from the advertising ring. Barbara Eggers again expressed a big thank you to all helpers and blood donors.
