During the weekend I attended four matches: on Friday at the match between Piast Gliwice and Wisła Kraków (top league), on Saturday – at the match between Górnik Zabrze and Wisła Płock (top league) and on Sunday – at the matches between Ruch Chorzów and Stal Rzeszów (II league) and GKS- at Katowice with Stomil Olsztyn (1st league).
A set of spectators was at one of these matches, it turns out that it was in the lowest league of the above-mentioned games.
There were 7886 spectators at Ruch;
7438 spectators attended Górnik;
There were 4,420 spectators at the Piast;
There were 1,651 spectators at GKS.
Of course, it was influenced by the rank of the match, the prestige of the opponent or how individual teams are doing. Nevertheless, the crowds in Cicha during the match at the top of the 2nd league made an impression on me. All tickets have been sold out. It was a fashion to come to Cicha again. The game was great to watch and it’s hard to argue with it. Ruch fans also travel in large numbers: I was at a meeting with Motor in Lublin, where there were crowds of fans in blue T-shirts. I suppose that when Ruch will have a new stadium one day, it will contribute to another increase in attendance.
I am always happy when the attendance grows and this applies to every club in our region. Personally, I always dream that such information would be an impulse to mobilize fans of other teams from the region. It is known that when you are a supporter of a team, the fact that there is a greater attendance at a match than a match between a rival team is a source of pride and satisfaction. However, it displeases me at times that give me joy, making fun of the neighbors, because it is never the case that you are always on this mountain; I also don’t understand when you deal more with a team you don’t like than with a team you support.
But that’s a topic for another day.
