Ruben Nicolai and Ruben van der Meer create online show together NOW

Ruben Nicolai, Ruben van der Meer and Tijl Beckand will make online theater together, the Online Improv Show. Beckand told that in Friday Jinek. Although it will not be the same as theater, they want to do everything possible to make it as ‘real’ as possible.

“The idea is that before the show starts, people can listen to a DJ, just like in real life. We also have a halfway break and afterwards people can have a drink with us in the foyer,” said Beckand.

During the improvisation performance, Nicolai, Van der Meer and Beckand each play from their own home. “But just like in the theater, we can also involve spectators in the game.” Such a spectator is then brought in via a video bubble construction.

“I think it is very noble that artists now all publish their work online, but that is all before the corona crisis.” According to Beckand, a new show can add something. “Not only are we joking now, we are also making it special for the spectators.”

Beckand, who is busy getting everything around technically, heard from Ticketmaster that she is currently also working with another artist, who wants to do a show in June. “I don’t know who that is, but we hope with this performance that we can remove any teething troubles, and that other artists can also make use of them.”

The three comedians, known collectively from the Llamas, arrived in mid-March Quarantine TV. This gave rise to the idea for the improvisation performance.

Online Improv Show takes place on May 28. Tickets are available at Ticketmaster and costs 10 euros (excluding service charges).
