Rúben de la Barrera is negotiating with Vizela to be Pablo Villar’s successor in command of the team, confirmed the More football.
According to what was possible to know, the Spanish coach is very close to reaching an agreement with the direction of the Vizelense emblem. There is an expectation that the 38-year-old coach will be presented this Tuesday in order to quickly start working with the squad.
Rúben de la Barrera announced, last night, his departure from the El Salvador team three months after arriving.
“A club in the first division of an important league contacted me recently and expressed their desire to count on me,” he said, at a press conference.
«They convinced me, (…) because it is an elite league in Europe», he added, without revealing the country or the name of the club, stating only that the proposal was presented to him «about three days ago».
Rubén de la Barrera was named Salvadoran coach on 19 September, but failed to achieve any victory in four matches, including two defeats with Martinique that saw El Salvador drop to the second division of the CONCACAF Nations League.
Before arriving in El Salvador, the Spaniard coached Albacete, Deportivo da Coruña and Real Valladolid B, in Spain’s second division, and was also assistant coach at Real Sociedad.
