Portuguese Ruben Amorim, the new Manchester United coach, is known for his ability to communicate with players, something many say his predecessor Erik ten Hag lacked, but the Portuguese coach, 39- year believes that he can be strict when he needs to be.
Amorim showed an admirable personality in his first press conference as United coach yesterday, Saturday, and his friendly relationship, especially with the nine journalists who traveled from Portugal, strengthened his reputation as a popular person.
Amorim, who is described by his partner Cristiano Ronaldo as a “poet” due to his communication skills, succeeded in dispelling the concerns raised by the British media about speaking English, through his thoughtful answers yesterday. He made a mistake only once, and that was with the word “suspicious.”
Due to the international break, Amorim led the team in only two training sessions ahead of today’s game, which comes at the start of a tight run of games.
But when asked if he had the grit he might need to restore glory to the side who are 13th in the English Premier League table, the former Sporting Lisbon coach said ahead of the scheduled game at United on Sunday against Ipswich Town, it was possible to present both sides.
The boss will name his first United XI this time tomorrow 👀⏳

“You can be the same person and be gentle in some aspects and serious in others. So I can be tough when I need to,” said Amorim.
He continued, “They (the players) feel it in the details, because I can be a laughing person, but then, when you have to act, I become a different person , and they understand that.
This was not how Amorim planned his first days with the new team.
“It’s very difficult to join a team in the middle of the season, because you have to get to know the players during the games,” said the Portuguese coach.
He explained, “(But) it depends on the situation. If you’re winning, it’s fun to play a lot of games, try to make tactical changes and win games. But if you’re losing, it’s not you have enough time in training to implement everything you want to do.” .
After facing 17th-placed Ipswich, United will play their first game at Old Trafford under Amorim when they host “Bodoglimt” in the Europa League, then host Everton in the league.
The three games come within a busy schedule which will include 12 games for the team in 6 weeks.
Amorim concluded, “Training is where the team’s performance can be improved.
