Sociologist from the National University, Sigit Rohadi, explained that delivering a corpse to the grave is a tradition that lives in Indonesian society. Even the mourning reverence can last longer if the deceased is an honorable person.
“So it is true that delivering a corpse to the grave is one of the traditions in society. In ancient times, when a person was honored, the grief lasted for three days. In the village, taking his body on foot, in the city by vehicle. But still as respect,” he said. When contacted by Sigit Rohadi, Friday (14/5/2021).
