RTX Remix Bundle: Enhancing Classic Games with Ray Tracing

With NVIDIA’s release of the RTX Remix bundle, old gaming classics enhanced with ray tracing are starting to swarm. The first Tomb Raider was also blessed with golden light.

Ray tracing wings grow for users and modders with the RTX Remix software package. With the help of this technology, you can stuff ray tracing even into archaic titles and shoot their visuals into the stratosphere. At least in theory. For example, we wrote about the dense action crime game Max Payne or NFS 2 Underground, both of which legendary games have their RTX mod. And the iconic Tomb Raider starring busty Lara Croft is not far behind.

It must be added that the RTX mod only works for the first two levels and you need the original game (Steam, GOG) of course. Compared to the original software or accelerated rendering, it is without a doubt heaven and bagpipes (literally, because Lara is wearing a new model and her bagpipes are much rounder). It is even possible to run through dungeons from your own point of view. But as cool as it looks, I’m not sure it does the game any good. Like, for example, Quake, it got a raytracing mod a long time ago, but I still personally like the raw software look better. Of course, it’s a matter of taste. You can find the Tomb Raider RTX demo here.
