“RTX 5090 Notebook Specs Leaked: 24GB GDDR7 VRAM and Chip Details Revealed Ahead of 2025 Launch”[embed]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gy4HAJdjeRA[/embed]

After the technical specifications of the upcoming GeForce RTX 5090 were leaked in the last few days, YouTuber Moore’s Law is Dead released parts of the technical specifications of the RTX 5090 notebook. No the chip should have only 24 GB of VRAM with GDDR7 technology, but it should be launched a few months after the desktop version.

According to the informant, the GPU uses the GB203 chip, which different from the GB202 used in the desktop version. The die is 377 mm in size, and the rest of the PCB would have 24 GB of VRAM in the GDDR7 protocol with a 256-bit interface, different from the 32 GB of the standard board.

The rest of the specifications are still a mystery, but it is very likely that the specifications of the chip will be significantly reduced compared to the standard model. The standard RTX 5090 should have around 21,000 CUDA cores, so it is not difficult to imagine that the mobile version will have between 40 and 60% fewer cores, depending on the trends of recent years .

Energy expenditure can be high

What is not entirely clear is the consumption levels of the RTX 5090 for notebooks. With the desktop model rated to consume up to 600 W and use two 12VHPWR contactseven the mobile version is expected to consume a lot of energy, requiring notebooks with robust cooling systems.

In addition, the RTX 5080 should have a notebook version with 16 GB of VRAM, but there are no details about this release. The same goes for the RTX 5070, which should arrive with 12 GB, but the big question is whether the manufacturer will use GDDR7 or GDDR6 memory.

Regarding the release date, the RTX 5090 notebook should only be launched between the end of the first quarter of 2025 and the beginning of the second quarter. This period corresponds to GTC, an annual event held by Nvidia to announce and present some technologies, although it is not a conference focused on home products.
