Why do we fall in love? Will we defeat death? Where do the aliens go? Will we one day be able to travel back in time? These are some of the questions to which “Óbbita Laika, el podcast” tries to respond throughout its 12 deliveries.
He will do it hand in hand Eduardo Saenz de Cabezon, mathematician and presenter, and the biologist and popularizer Ricardo Moure. As scientific detectives, Eduardo and Ricardo They will take us on a sound journey from the very Big Bang to the future and perhaps inevitable extinction of humanity. We will travel to the Moon aboard Apollo 11, visit Europe devastated by the Black Death and attend a mysterious party in Stephen Hawking’s living room.
“Óbbita Laika, el podcast” transfers the spirit of the television program to the sound format with a painstaking technical and artistic production. The goal remains the same: bring science to a general public with a fun and surprising look, suitable for all ages.
Scientific rigor and sense of humor
Why do we fall in love with one person and not another? Have we received any message from space that we still do not know how to interpret today? Would it be possible for someone to survive a nuclear war? As I would do it? What would happen to us if we spent 11 days without sleeping? Has anyone ever documented it?
“Here we cannot show science as we do on television, so our goal is to convey the fascination and wonder of nature through words and sound settings very ambitious”, explains Jose A. Pérez Ledo, director and one of the writers of the podcast.
“The podcast has a more narrative touch than the television program, even more intimate,” says Eduardo Sáenz de Cabezón. “We talk a lot about the presence of scientific discoveries in our lives, and the careful sound environment makes us feel science in a very close way”.
“It’s an immersive sound experience at the heart of science stories”, tells Ricardo Moure. “There are inspiring, grandiose stories and, above all, human stories.”
