RTVE has launched this Monday ‘The great consultation’, a transmedia campaign of citizen participation to know which public radio television people want and the function that citizens expect her. A campaign that will be, not only analog and on the street, but also digital, to reach Spanish citizens of all ages and that can be seen in digital media, social networks and on all RTVE screens.
According to RTVE, it is the the first time in Spain that the population has been asked about the role that a public communication medium should play. Similar initiatives have been done before in countries like France, Great Britain or Luxembourg.
RTVE will ‘seed’ Spain with a QR code that has the citizen survey inserted to give an opinion. A total of 36 cities have already joined the campaign, which has the collaboration of the Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces (FEMP), and many others are already in the process to join in the coming days from their social networks, canopies, totems, buses and other supports. The campaign started this morning with the placement of a giant QR on a large canvas that has been installed in the Plaza de la Independencia in Madrid.
In order to achieve the maximum possible participation and collect the real feeling, ‘The great consultation’ it will last until January and it will be accompanied by a series of events to gather the opinion of representative sectors of society and social actors. It will also have a mobile study that will tour the Peninsula soon.
This query will conclude with the drafting of a White Paper on RTVE which will collect the conclusions of the survey and will serve as the basis for the elaboration of the new framework mandate on which the new public radio and television must pivot. In social networks, the hashtag #LaGranConsulta will be used and the survey is available at ‘https://lagranconsulta.rtve.es/‘.
