The GGD Limburg, in collaboration with Maastricht University and Ciro – a knowledge/treatment center for chronic lung diseases – is starting an online study into the long-term effects of corona, also known as lung covid.

Limburg has a high number of infections. Some people who go through the disease continue to have complaints such as fatigue and shortness of breath for a long time. The aim of the study is to map out knowledge about these long-term complaints.

About 60,000 Limburgers who have taken a corona test in a test street of the GGD in the past year will receive an invitation to participate. Invitees who have not had corona or who now have no complaints after a corona infection are also expressly invited to participate in this research. In order to chart the course of long-term complaints and other consequences, people are invited to complete a follow-up questionnaire after a while.
