“RTU Border Guard” / “Jūrmala” games scheduled for Thursday and Friday in Jūrmala in the European Volleyball Confederation (CEV) Challenge Cup with Prague “Lvi” were canceled due to the diagnosis of Covid-19 for the guest team.

The first round of the Games Challenge Cup will not take place on Thursday and Friday, because two players in the “Lvi” team have been diagnosed with “Covid-19”, the manager of Jūrmala team Arnis Tunte told the LVF Press Service on Monday.

Due to the Covid-19 outbreak in the Czech Republic, the away team has already agreed to play both matches in Latvia, where the unit has been located since late Saturday evening.

“The Covid-19 tests taken by two volleyball players on Sunday morning turned out to be positive,” says Arnis Tunte. He does not want to mention when and whether the first round matches will be played, but now it is clear that this will not be possible for two weeks and that the Czech club will most likely leave Latvia.

If the teams fail to agree on the dates on which the games will be played again in Latvia, the Czech club will be awarded a loss.
