The police arrested M Ecky Listiantho (34), a suspect in the murder of Angela Hindriati (54). Angela’s body was found in one condition mutilated in a rented house in South Tambun, Bekasi Regency, West Java.
The head of the local RT, Alfian, recounted the moments when Ecky was arrested. At first, police were looking for Ecky in the rented house where he reportedly lived.
At the time the rental house was closed and Ecky was not there. The police then summoned the owner.
“Nothing, it was empty. Initially it was empty, that’s why we asked permission from the renter to open it,” said Alfian when met at the scene on Friday (6/1/2023).
The police entered the rented house with a number of residents. At the time, she said the police forbade touching anything.
“That’s also what the police asked directly. It is now open, together with the residents. No one can touch stuff,” he said.
While the trial was going on, a car arrived at the rental. The car stopped and drove off the scene when approached by police.
Suspicious police then chased after the car. Ecky was found in the car.
Ecky himself was not arrested in the rented house. He was arrested in an alley near his rented house.
“He got arrested when he wanted to come here, he walked in. He got arrested at the end of the street,” he explained as he showed the location where Ecky was arrested.
