RTL director Van der Vorst: we should have known about abuses at The Voice

RTL program director Peter van der Vorst says that RTL Nederland knew nothing about abuses at The Voice. He mentioned that on the talk show Beau painful. “We should have known this from the start.”

According to Van der Vorst, RTL immediately started calling producers of talent shows, when BOOS-presenter Tim Hofman came up with a call in the summer to report abuses at talent shows. “We asked further, do we need to know something, have there been incidents. Nothing has been said about that,” said Van der Vorst. “We should and wanted to know this.”

The program director also responded in the program to the incident for which band leader Jeroen Rietbergen was called to the attention of producer John de Mol, after one woman had reported complaints about unwanted app behavior. “That was never reported to us,” said Van der Vorst. “If we had known that he had sent very inappropriate text messages to the candidates, he would have been fired on the spot.”

In the episode of BOOS, former candidates of The Voice told about jury members Ali B and Marco Borsato and band leader Jeroen Rietbergen.
