RTL Boulevard resumed, broadcasts from Mediapark in Hilversum

The broadcasts of RTL Boulevard will resume from tonight, but they will no longer come from the permanent studio at Leidseplein in Amsterdam. The program is now being made at the Media Park in Hilversum, RTL reports. For security reasons, no statements are made about the precise location or measures.

Last Tuesday, crime reporter Peter R. de Vries was shot after a performance in the program. The broadcasts were canceled over the weekend due to a serious threat. NRC reported that the police had intercepted messages from criminals, which showed that they were talking about an attack with a rocket launcher or automatic weapons.

“The safety of the employees is of course a top priority,” RTL said. “We trust the advice of the security authorities that we can resume broadcasts at a new location at the Media Park in Hilversum. The media company thanks the authorities for the support in recent days, as well as the viewers, business partners and other media.

‘Visible and invisible measures’

Today said caretaker Minister Grapperhaus of Justice that RTL Boulevard should be on live TV again as soon as possible. He called the need to cancel the talk show “extremely bad” and said he spent all weekend trying to find a solution.

RTL Nieuws reports that the new broadcast location has been determined in consultation with the triangle in Hilversum, which consists of the mayor, the public prosecutor and the police chief. “Visible and invisible measures” would be taken by the municipality to guarantee safety.
