RTBF journalist furious with minister during press conference: …

In a small room with fifteen journalists, photographers and cameramen, the Brussels Secretary of State for Heritage Pascal Smet (one.brussels-SP.A) announced that caramelized biscuits will be included in the inventory of intangible heritage. “Unheard of in times of a pandemic,” said RTBF journalist Éric Boever, who then lashed out at Smet.

On Friday morning, Pascal Smet announced the joyful news: caramelized biscuits will become intangible heritage. But that news was soon overtaken by the health crisis. Because in a video that circulates on social media you can see how RTBF journalist Éric Boever seriously lashes out at Smet because he finds it scandalous that so many people are crammed into a small space and that while our country is still fighting against the coronavirus.

“It’s not safe, excuse me. But if I’m not upset, then you won’t even notice. You are a policy maker and you do not even respect the rules that you make yourself. The people are not allowed to get more than four people together for Christmas, but we are here with fifteen people in the same small room. What message are you trying to give ”, the journalist shouted.

Smet himself replied that it was only about a small demonstration of a few minutes in which everyone wore a mask, but he agreed with the journalist to talk to him about this.
