SERAMBINEWS.COM – The news of the discovery of a man suspected of being a police officer who disappeared 17 years ago in the 2004 Aceh tsunami has shocked the public.
This is because the man who is suspected of being a member of the Mobile Brigade, Baharaka Asep, is now in a mental condition and is undergoing treatment at the Zainal Abidin General Hospital in Banda Aceh.
Following is Asep’s journey to the RSJ in Banda Aceh, according to the hospital management.
Delivered 12 years ago, condition in a daze
The director of RSJ ZA Banda Aceh Makhrozal said, the man who is suspected of being the Adjunct Police Brigadier (Abrip) Asep first set foot in the mental hospital 12 years ago.
In 2009, said Makhrozal, Asep was escorted by a resident in Aceh Jaya to the RSJ.
Asep at that time was in a daze and his identity was not clear.
“The patient’s condition was in a daze. We did not get information from the patient about his origin and identity,” said Makhrozal.
On his way, the hospital discovered that Asep did not have any family in Aceh.
Because he always failed to find a guardian, the hospital’s efforts to return Asep to Aceh Jaya district failed.
