Rs 205.81 Crore To Be Donated To Flood-Provided Rice Center – Government of Kerala | Central Government Rice Price Manorama News

Thiruvananthapuram – Central government urgently needs money for rice allotted to Kerala during floods. The prime minister signed off on the file to pay the money in accordance with the suggestion that the amount would be recovered from next year’s grant. 205.81 crore to be paid to the Centre.

During the 2018 floods, 89,540 tons of rice was supplied to Kerala through the FCI. The central government has suggested that the bill amount of Rs 205.81 crore should be paid immediately.

Officials said the state government had asked not to charge for flood relief. The request was rejected by the Centre. Union Food Minister Piyush Goyal wrote to the Prime Minister that if the money is not returned, recovery will be required. The Center also asked for money for the helicopter used for flood relief operations.
