ROYALTYQueen Mathilde took one of her favorite dresses out of the closet for the reception of the new certified purveyors to the court. How many times has she worn that outfit and where did she find it? The Dutch Queen Máxima also stood out in a special dress. Had she stuck strings to her upper body before that? This and more stood out in royalty land this week.

Queen Mathilde wears favorite dress
Together with King Philippe (63), Queen Mathilde (50) received the new certified court suppliers yesterday at the royal palace in Brussels. For this occasion she appeared in a gray and yellow outfit from her favorite fashion house Natan from Brussels.
It is one of her most worn pieces of clothing for an official activity. To be precise: eight times in total, for the first time in October 2014, according to the specialized website Garderobe Royale. It had been seven years since she had taken the outfit out of the closet.

Generous get-together
Colleagues: British Crown Prince William (41) and Princess Catherine (41) received Swedish Crown Princess Victoria (46) and her husband Prince Daniel (50) at Windsor Castle on Thursday.
Victoria and Daniel were in England on a work trip for a few days. William and Catherine did not have to move far. They live nearby in Adelaide Cottage, on the grounds of Windsor Castle. The meeting took place in the midst of a fuss about a new book about the British royals, in which King Charles is called a racist and Catherine’s name was also mentioned.

After their meeting, both couples went to a benefit show at the legendary Royal Albert Hall in London, with performances by the American world star Cher (77) and the Swedish pop singer Zara Larsson (25).
William and Catherine were enthusiastic: “What a show! The joy we feel on this evening reminds us why continued support of the arts and entertainment industry is so important.”

Máxima shines next to Mrs Macron
The Dutch Queen Máxima (52) has opened an exhibition in Paris with garments by the Dutch fashion designer Iris van Herpen (39). She was accompanied by French first lady Brigitte Macron (70).
Máxima wore an enchanting dress by Van Herpen from a collection dedicated to underground fungi and roots. “It is made of a skin-colored fabric, with tulle embroidered over it. This choice of fabric makes it look as if the lines are stuck to her body,” says Josine Droogendijk of the website Fashion Queen Máxima.

Danish royals start advent calendar
The Danish royal family has started an Advent calendar on their social media. They announced this with a photo of Queen Margrethe (83) lighting a candle. Until Christmas Eve, followers of ‘Det Danske Kongehus’ can get a look behind the castle walls.
We previously wrote that Margrethe will spend the holidays with her two sons Crown Prince Frederik (55) and Prince Joachim (54) and their families. Remarkable, because last Christmas they did so separately, after Margrethe had “humiliated” some grandchildren in the biggest royal crisis in decades. However, the pressing question remains whether everything has now been forgotten and forgiven. Because in the meantime, adultery rumors are weighing on Frederik’s marriage.

Winterpracht in Sandringham
Finally, this beautiful highlight: the beautiful, winter sky above a lake at Sandringham House. The photo, taken by the head gardener, was posted on the royal estate’s social media.
Queen Elizabeth II liked to visit Sandringham House, an estate near the village of the same name in Norfolk. It is best known as the place where the Windsors celebrate Christmas. King Charles (75) continues that tradition.
