Muscat: The Royal Oman Police (ROP) has denied the propaganda that Indian passport holders can enter Oman without a visa. ROP Public Relations Director Major Mohammad Al Hashmi was quoted by a local news portal as saying that these kinds of propaganda are false and the visa procedures for entering Oman remain the same as in the past. Meanwhile, Indians with US, Canada and European visas have Visa on Arrival facility when coming to Oman. Canadian residents can also enter Oman free of charge on a visa on arrival. The visa is valid for 14 days. Major Mohammad Al Hashmi said that visa on arrival will be available without delay.
It was widely reported that one can travel visa-free to 62 countries including Oman and Qatar with an Indian passport. On the basis of the Henley report, the campaign was that travel can be done visa free or on arrival visa. However, the authorities have clarified the case of Oman.
