More than two million people watched the visit of the royal family to Rotterdam on King’s Day. The report of the festivities by the NOS on NPO1 was therefore the best-watched program of the day.
This year’s King’s Day report was slightly better viewed than last year’s, when King Willem-Alexander celebrated his birthday in Maastricht. This year 2.07 million people watched, last year 2 million.
The previously recorded King’s Day concert, which was shown on NPO2 on Thursday at 8:30 p.m., was good for 819,000 viewers. In Rotterdam Ahoy, Davina Michelle, Winne, Broederliefde and Gerard Cox, among others, performed for the royal family. At the same time, 680,000 people were watching the Blue bloodspecial about the tenth anniversary of King Willem-Alexander on NPO1.
Omroep MAX, which celebrated King’s Day from Soestdijk Palace around noon with a theme broadcast, attracted 649,000 people to NPO1. To the AVROTROS program André and the Orangesin which various pieces of music by André Rieu were explained to the royal family by the violinist, 482,000 people watched.
