He Royal Casino of Murcia offers a new artistic initiative for partners. It’s about a introductory course to classical music taught by the graduate in philosophy and musician Juanfra Martí.

1. Methodology, objectives, definitions and previous questions. The expressive capacity of music. Previous notions of tempo and musical dynamics.

2. The “concerto grosso” and the baroque solo concerto. Programmatic music (I) Antonio Vivaldi.

3. The classical concerto for soloist.

4. The symphony orchestra. Features, instruments, sections, layout. Reference works by solo instrument. The piano and its predecessors.

5. The sonata form and the classical symphony: Haydn, Mozart and Beethoven.

6. Symphony and pre-romanticism: Beethoven.

7. Romanticism and revolution. Programmatic music (II). Hector Berlioz.

8. The Requiem Mass (I): WA Mozart.

9. The Requiem Mass (II) Giuseppe Verdi: Requiem Mass.

10. The canon, the fugue and the theme with variations. JS. Bach “Goldberg Variations”

11. Chamber music.

12. Orchestral direction. Genesis, evolution and characteristics. From Jean Baptiste Lully to Leonard Bernstein.

13. The voice and opera. An approximation.
