This decision comes following the suspension of all flights to Morocco on Sunday.
The Moroccan national carrier, Royal Air Maroc (RAM), announced yesterday, November 30, that it was preparing special flights from Morocco to Canada, Spain and Italy for December 04, 2021.
RAM had previously announced that it was preparing special flights from Morocco to France between November 30 and December 6.

This news comes after Morocco’s decision to suspend all flights as part of its preventive measures against the spread of the Omicron variant of the COVID-19 virus.
The Moroccan government cited alarming reports about the Omicron in Europe and South Africa when it announced the suspension of flights for two weeks.
The two-week ban aims to preserve Morocco’s progress in stemming the COVID-19 crisis, the government said in a statement. Several countries have taken similar decisions, banning travel from countries with new variants of COVID-19.
While there is still no consensus on the effectiveness of existing COVID-19 vaccines in the face of this contagious and “dangerous” variant, many health experts have said the Omicron is at high risk for weaken the effectiveness of the vaccine.

Tayeb Hamdi, a medical professional and health policy and systems researcher, said this week that Morocco has taken the necessary steps to reduce the risk of importing cases of the new variant of Omicron. The World Health Organization (WHO) has called the new variant of the virus, first identified in South Africa, worrying. The new strain is believed to carry 32 mutations, which could make it more transmissible and more dangerous.
