Royal Air Maroc: 14 new international lines connecting Marrakech, Agadir and Dakhla

To initiate a tourism revival, the Moroccan National Tourist Office (ONMT) and Royal Air Maroc are taking the lead by setting up 15 new routes to France, Germany, Spain and Italy , Belgium and the United Kingdom.

Some 150,255 seats will be injected over the next 5 months, from December 15, 2020, to connect Marrakech, Agadir and Dakhla to 10 European metropolises, while strengthening the frequencies of its Marrakech-Paris airline line.

« As a National Company, Royal Air Maroc has always supported Moroccan tourism, and even more so in times of crisis. It was therefore essential that we mobilize with the ONMT, to relaunch point-to-point lines, for the benefit of this strategic sector for our country. Together, we will put in place the human and material resources necessary for this recovery », Indicates Hamid ADDOU, Chairman and CEO of Royal Air Maroc.

For his part, Adel EL FAKIR, Director General of ONMT considers that “ For the Office, it was important to help set up these new links in order to start the recovery by securing the connectivity of Moroccan destinations to the main source markets. The air is one of the main levers of the recovery. Our challenge now is to boost demand in these markets to ensure maximum recovery».

Thus, Royal Air Maroc is launching eight direct air routes connecting Marrakech to London, Brussels, Madrid, Milan, Lyon, Marseille and Bordeaux. The Ocher city will be connected to the capital of the United Kingdom at the rate of 4 frequencies per week. As for Brussels, Madrid and Milan, they will be served by 3 flights per week for each air link. The lines connecting Marrakech to the four French cities will be operated at a rate of 2 frequencies per week. In addition, the National Company will strengthen the frequencies of its air route Marrakech-Paris to increase to 10 frequencies per week instead of four.

The program also includes 4 new direct air routes connecting Agadir to London, Brussels, Manchester and Lyon at the rate of 2 frequencies per week for each link.

As for Dakhla, it will be connected to Paris at the rate of two frequencies per week. This will be the first connection on the European continent, for a RAM flight from Dakhla. The ONMT has chosen to activate this route with Royal Air Maroc in order to involve the national company in this tourist niche and to provide international visitors with Dakhla and the Morocco experience upon boarding in Paris.
