TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – Independent Multimedia-Telematics Observer Roy Suryo questioned the reason why he was called a “slanderer” by the Chairman of the General Election Commission or KPU Hashim Ash’ari.
“I myself don’t know what the basis, background and intentions of KPU Chairman Hasyim Asy’ari were, who said or wrote the words ‘Roy Suryo the Slanderer’,” said Roy, in a written statement, on Sunday, December 24 2023.
Roy said that currently his legal team is reviewing the steps to be taken in responding to Hasyim’s remarks.
According to him, the understanding of the word “artisan” refers to an expert or someone who has habits and is recognized for something. One of the definitions from the Big Indonesian Dictionary (KBBI), he said, means “handyman” is a person who does a job regularly.
