Roy Keane calls João Félix an “impostor” for not thrashing Belgium – Observer

Former Irish football star Roy Keane called forward João Félix “impostor” for not having scored a goal at Portugal’s meeting with Belgium: “That guy is an imposter. He is an imposter. The country needs him, he has to schedule it. One hundred million [de libras]? If I were Ronaldo, I would go after him in the dressing room. Shocking!”, said the former player in a comment on the game that threw Portugal out of Euro 2020.

The former midfielder, who played for teams like Manchester United and Celtic Glasgow, also criticized Bruno Fernandes, who entered the second half without managing to equalize: “They were driving me crazy. I’m very angry about this, especially because they are quality players. Seeing players like these retreating and missing the target… at least hit the goal and test the goalkeeper”, he fired.

Both athletes entered the field at 55 minutes to surrender João Moutinho and Bernardo Silva. It was the first time that Félix played at Euro 2020, but the failure to reach the Belgian net angered Roy Keane: “Those two guys really pissed me off,” said the former Irish midfielder, referring to the Atlético de Madrid striker and to Manchester United player.

João Félix was sold by Benfica to Atlético de Madrid for around 120 million euros, the quart most expensive transfer in football history, the most expensive starring a teenager and the most valuable performed by a Portuguese club. Bruno Fernandes has been at Manchester United for two years and the market value is fixed at 90 million euros.
