Roy Donders is going to sell house suits again: ‘But with less glitter’

Tilburger Roy Donders is going to sell house suits again. After four years, he picks up again. On March 1, he opens a webshop with clothes for in and around the house. “I’ve only had positive reactions,” says Roy.

“I’m going to do what I’m good at and what I’ve missed so much,” says the stylist of the south. In the webshop he will sell casual clothes, such as slippers and of course the house suits with which he has become famous.

“I start with a standard collection that is always available. In addition, I will publish a new house suit design every month. Those are the house suits in the style that my customers expect from me, only with less glitter,” says the stylist.

After the bankruptcy of his Tilburg clothing store Rojami’s in 2018, the well-known Brabander has no longer burned his fingers on the clothing industry. After he moved his shop to the center of Tilburg, things didn’t go so well anymore. His shop was then robbed several times. He therefore has no future plans to start a clothing store again.

Yet he did not sit still. He was on TV, of course, but he also had his own line of beds, a beauty clinic and a collection of Christmas balls. He has even released two true carnival hits: ‘We Will Be The Last’ and ‘What Are They Tasty’.

“I’m used to working 80 or 90 hours a week,” says Roy. “During corona I couldn’t perform, so I had a lot more free time. I used that time to start this project again. I just can’t sit still.”
