Roxeanne Hazes (31) went ‘very much out of her comfort zone’ for the program ‘3 Minutes of Fame: It’s Your Lucky Day’. The singer, who is a coach in the new program on SBS6, said this in a conversation with ‘Mezza’.
In the program, which can be seen from November 23, undiscovered singing talents will get the chance to hear their voices for the general public. The talents are recorded by their loved ones and then surprised by a camera crew and a coach. “It makes me feel like a little Robert ten Brinkje, à la all you need is lovebut different,” says Roxeanne.
“It was way out of my comfort zone, but I got so many beautiful things back: a connection with these people, their trust. All the candidates are people to be accepted. They deserve to be under attention. No matter how scary they are.”
In the interview she also shares the advice she gives to the candidates in the programme. “You decide what you share. I know what it’s like to answer questions you don’t want to answer,” said Roxeanne. Much was going on about her character in court and outside between herself, her mother and her brother. “If candidates say afterwards: I’d rather this wasn’t on the screen, I’ll be the first to support them.”
