TO currently the Covid-19 corona virus does not have a cure. However, researchers used three steroid drugs to reduce the risk of death from this virus.
In fact, the World Health Organization (WHO) also recommended that hospitals provide these three cheap drugs to Covid-19 patients. The research is published in the Journal of the American Medical Association.
In the study, according to a meta-analysis of seven different studies on drugs, three inexpensive and readily available drugs were found to be effective in reducing the risk of death by up to a third of critically ill Covid-19 patients.
“Steroids are inexpensive and readily available drugs and our analysis has confirmed that these three drugs are effective in reducing the mortality of Covid-19 patients with severe conditions,” said Jonathan Sterne, lead author of the study as quoted by the New York Post report.
The three cheap drugs are hydrocortisone, methylprednisolone, and dexamethasone. These three drugs are given to patients who are so sick that they need a ventilator to keep oxygen sufficient.
