Waspada.co.id – Throughout July 2021 there will be a number of celestial phenomena ranging from the sun over the Kaaba to meteor showers. Here are a series of natural events that will fill Indonesia’s skies in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic which is still high.
New Moon Phase
Citing the LAPAN website, the lunar genome is in its semi-final phase which will take place in early July. The phase of the new moon is when the configuration between the sun, Earth and moon forms a right angle of 90 degrees.
The peak of the phenomenon will occur at 04.11 WIB, Friday (2/7). Citing Planetarium Jakarta, this phenomenon can be observed since the Moon rose today, Thursday (1/7) at 23.51 WIB.
Mercury’s Maximum Weight Elongation
Then on Monday (5/7) the planet Mercury will be at its maximum western elongation position which peaks at 05.00 WIB.
Apogee Moon
Lunar apogee is when the configuration of the moon is farthest from the earth. The reason is that the moon’s elliptical orbit with Earth is located at the focal point of that orbit. This phenomenon will occur on Tuesday (6/7).
Aphelion Bumi
Aphelion is a natural event when the Earth is at its furthest point from the sun. This happens because the Earth’s orbit is not perfectly circular, but in the form of an ellipse or 1/60th of the ellipse and the sun is at one of the two focal points of the ellipse.
This phenomenon will occur on Tuesday (6/7) at 05.27 WIB.
Moon-Mercury Conjunction
The peak of the Moon-Mercury conjunction is on Thursday (8/7), at 11.38 WIB. The best time for this phenomenon is said to be at 05.00 WIB.
New Moon Phase
The new moon phase phenomenon will occur on Saturday (10/7) at 08.16 WIB. The moon will be located in the space or constellation Taurus.
Venus and Mar will appear tilted to the West in the late afternoon on that day, then sink at 19:45 and 19:50 WIB. Meanwhile in Indonesia, when the sun sets at an angle of +2.36 degrees to +4.26 degrees, the elongation angle will make the moon difficult to observe.
Moon-Mars-Venus Triple Conjunction
Citing the Planetarium instagram account, the triple conjunction natural event between the Moon, Mars and Venus will take place on July 11 to 13. This phenomenon can be monitored since 18.40 WIB.
The Sun Above the Kaaba
The sun will be above the Kaaba on July 15, 2021. This phenomenon has been recorded twice, the first on May 27.
This celestial phenomenon is called Istiwaul A’zham or Great Culmination which can be used to detect the Qibla direction in Indonesia. The peak of this natural event will take place at 16.26 WIB.
Delta Aquarid Meteor Shower
The peak of the Delta Aquarid meteor shower will occur at 10.00 WIB, July 28, 2021, but can be observed from 19.45 WIB from the East-Southeast direction until July 29, 2021 at 05.30 WIB from the West-Southwest direction.
The maximum intensity of the Delta Aquarid meteor shower is around 14-15 meteors per hour and the speed reaches 147,600 km/hour.
Capricornid Meteor Shower
The peak of the Capricornid meteor shower will occur on July 28, 2021, at 10:00 WIB. The speed level is 86,400 km/h. The maximum intensity of the Capricornid meteor shower is only 5 meteors per hour. (cnnindonesia/d2)
