Pandemic COVID-19 keep mutating. Currently there are various new variants with new symptoms as well.
Earlier this month, the World Health Organization (WHO), has announced new names for the variants of the COVID-19 virus that are spreading in various countries. This naming was done with a number of considerations.
“WHO brought together a group of partner experts from around the world to do this, including experts who are part of existing naming systems, virus nomenclature and taxonomists, researchers and national authorities,” the WHO statement said. CNBC Indonesia on Tuesday (29/6/2021).
This new variant needs to be recognized and understood, Mother. That way, you can be more sensitive to the symptoms caused. Here are the full notes.
1. Varian B.1.1.7 (Alpha)
This variant first appeared in the UK at the end of last year. Symptoms of this variant are fever, cough, difficulty breathing, decreased function of the senses of taste and smell, to complaints in the digestive tract.
2. Varian B.1.351 (Beta)
This variant was first discovered in Nelson Mandela Bay, South Africa in October 2020. This variant is said to have a faster transmission ability and has the potential to cause high mortality.
3. Varian P.1 (Gamma)
This variant was first discovered in Brazil. Previously, this variant was referred to as the Brazilian variant.
4. Varian B.1.617.2 (Delta)
It is a variant of the E484Q and L452R double mutations. This variant is said to be more contagious and can spread more quickly
5. Varian B.1.427/B.1429 (Epilson)
This variant was first discovered in California, United States. This variant is feared as a variant that leads to a more severe level of transmission and disease.
