On Saturday, the bronze medalist of the European Junior Championship, Rumpe, rowed 2000 meters in eight minutes and 6.70 seconds in the B final of the singles competition, in which the athletes competed for the seventh place in the master’s race.
In the B final, she was fifth, or last, because the athlete from Japan did not start. The Latvian lost 18.78 seconds to the winner of the B final, Esther Brisa Samorano from Spain.
Meanwhile, in the U-19 age group, the rowing duo Patriks Strazds/Andrejs Kļaviņš rowed the distance in the C/D semi-finals in six minutes and 37.06 seconds, which gave them a place in the C final and will allow them to strive for the 13th position. On the other hand, Kate Agare/Una Krasta C/D finished in seven minutes and 26.56 seconds in the semi-finals. They were fourth and will end the championship in the D final, or with a fight for 19th place.
