At the beginning of March there will be no trains between Hamm and Münster for a week. And now Deutsche Bahn has announced further closures that will make life difficult for Hammer passengers in the coming weeks.
Hamm – Track construction work between Düren and Aachen will begin as early as Friday, February 24th. If you want to take the regional express 1 (NRW-Express Hamm – Aachen, operated by National Express) to Aachen, you can only get as far as Düren until March 3rd; from there it continues with buses.
Passengers to Oberhausen will have to transfer to the bus from March 3rd to 31st. Regional Express 3 (Rhein-Emscher-Express Hamm – Düsseldorf, operated by Eurobahn) is then diverted between Gelsenkirchen and Duisburg via Essen; The reason for this is construction work at the Kaiserberg motorway junction.

Track construction work between Hanover and Berlin from March 28 to May 5 will extend the travel time to the capital by one hour. The ICE line 10 (Cologne / Düsseldorf – Hamm – Berlin, operated by Deutsche Bahn) will then be diverted in the direction of Berlin via Magdeburg, the stops in Wolfsburg, Stendal and Spandau will be omitted. From Berlin in the direction of Hamm, the trains run according to the usual timetable on the regular route.
