roundup of events organized by Unibo and the Carim Foundation

University of Bologna – Rimini Campus and the Carim Foundation, with the involvement of the Municipality of Rimini, are taking the first steps of a collaboration that aims to disseminate common contents and initiatives on environmental and climate change issueseducation and school dropout. The first appointment is for tomorrow, Tuesday 19 November, and concerns the environment and ongoing climate change. The Foundation will host a workshop in English in the ballroom dedicated to “Progress in environmental economics: impact of climate change on economic growth”.

I am at the Rimini Campus of the University of Bologna several researchers present who have developed both theoretical and empirical studies and have undertaken international collaborations which already in 2022 led to the selection of Rimini as the venue for the international conference of the European Association of Environmental and Resource Economists. The workshop will be open to PhD students, post-docs and students of master’s degree courses both from the Department of Economic Sciences of the University of Bologna and from other departments, and will give those interested in the topic useful research ideas.

Introductory greetings will be given by Luca Lambertini (head of the Research Institute on global challenges and climate change at the Alma Mater), Elettra Agliardi (University of Bologna), Anna Montini (University of Bologna and Councilor for the Environment of the Municipality of Rimini) and Paolo Pasini (president of the Rimini savings bank foundation)

Other areas of collaboration will concern interventions in favor of children with specific learning disabilities and the theme of NEETs, young people who do not study or work, a phenomenon which tends to expand more and more and which, together with the birth rate decline, will lead to a drastic reduction in the number of young people who will attend schools and universities. The relevance of these issues, and the need for them to be adequately illustrated and communicated to citizens, motivates the synergy between the Rimini Campus, the Municipality of Rimini and the Carim Foundation.
