Round of 16 Queen Cup Portuguese Cup Second Day Highlights and Preview

The second day of the round of 16 of the queen competition is played

Good afternoon! Follow the second day of the round of 16 of the Portuguese Cup live with us. The round begins with a duel between Marítimo and União de Leiria at 6:45 pm, followed by Gil Vicente against Amarante at 7:15 pm and Vizela against Arouca at 8:00 pm. See below the main incidents and highlights of each meeting.

Meeting between two teams from the first League. Both teams are in the second half of the league table (17th and 13th, respectively), and hope to be able to do well in the premier competition.

Vizela eliminated Atlético CP, who compete in League 3, 1-0 in the 3rd round, and defeated Estrela da Amadora 2-1, after extra time, in the next round. The Vizelenses even lost a large part of the match against the stars, having tied the game at 80 and turning the result around in extra time.

As for Arouca, the northerners eliminated Felgueiras, from Liga 3, by 3-1, in the third round, having defeated Boavista in the next round: the two teams drew 2-2 and, after the penalty shoot-out, Arouca took the best.

Vizela and Arouca have already faced each other this season: it was on the second round of the League, and the match ended in a 2-2 draw. Samu Silva and Samuel Essende scored for the Vizelenses side, with Cristo González and Rafa Mújica scoring for the Arouquenses side.

Gil Vicente was perhaps the team with the most favorable draw, being a team in the First League that will face, this afternoon, a team from the Portuguese Championship. Amarante, on the other hand, will try to continue its good form in the premier competition, and try to reach the quarter-finals.

To reach this stage, the Galos de Barcelona eliminated Belenenses, from Liga 2, by 2-1 in the 3rd round, and later Serpa, from the Portuguese Championship, by 1-0.

On the other hand, Amarante defeated Sertanense — who also compete in the Portuguese Championship — 2-0 in the 2nd round; eliminated Académia OAF, from Liga 3, 1-0 in the 3rd round; and, finally, in the 4th round, they got the better of Paredes, who are also competing in the Portuguese Championship.
