The Minister of Agriculture Julien Denormandie was visiting Rouen (Seine-Maritime), Monday March 1, 2021, in a context where the growers growl to obtain a better remuneration has lately amplified. The agricultural world responds to the noblest of missions, that of always feeding the French people better. This requires quality, which is only possible if it is recognized in the end, especially in the price paid for these foods. However, today, some break and prevent the rise in quality.

“They must be condemned for this”
Without naming names, the minister mentions “some of the mass distribution” and “some manufacturers”. It highlights the incompatibility between “an increase in quality” of products, sought after, expected, and “a permanent price war”. Finally, he left no doubt about the consequences of non-compliance with one aspect of the Egalim law, which is to stick to the prices set by the agricultural professions. ” [Il faut] to be completely firm when some do not apply the law, they must be condemned for it. Let us multiply the checks, in six weeks, we did the equivalent of six months of checks. Nothing will be left to chance, ”concluded the Minister.
This afternoon, Julien Denormandie will visit breeders in Biville-la-Baignarde and Belleville-en-Caux, then will discuss with representatives of the Young Farmers.
