The order of the prefecture of November 26, 2021, to counter the resumption of circulation of the Covid-19, clarified the situation regarding the newly installed Christmas markets: in Seine-Maritime, only the wearing a mask would be compulsory. As to health pass, if indicated, near the Rouen market, that it is also compulsory, it is not systematically checked… to the surprise of some of the visitors. So do we have to have it on hand to wander between the chalets? When should it be presented? The prefecture provides details.
No tasting (at all) in the aisles
First of all, if there is no control of the pass at the entrance to the Rouen Christmas market, it is due to its configuration. Indeed, “the Christmas markets are subject to the health pass as soon as they are blocked”, indicates the prefecture, but that of Rouen is not because of the many streets which give access to it, and cannot allow a control of all its visitors. However, it should be remembered that the pass is indeed mandatory on the site for those who want to eat there, or have a drink.
“To consume a product on site, you must have presented your pass and be installed in [un espace de restauration] “. A “Covid referent” oversees checks before accessing dedicated areas. These are the only places where it is possible to taste the good products, since the prefecture adds that it is strictly forbidden to take off your mask in the aisles, even to sip your mulled wine.
