Röttingen’s volleyball players start the Bayern League season

This Saturday, October 16, the new season in the Bavarian volleyball league for the men from Röttingen around captain Hannes Dollmann begins in the Niederstetten sports hall. TSV Röttingen (district of Würzburg) plays its eight home games in cooperation with the local volleyball department again in Niederstetten (Main-Tauber district) and again in front of spectators (3G rule). TSV Röttingen informs about this in a press release.

In terms of sport, the Röttinger volleyball players aimed for a place in the top third of the table after good preparation for the season. In Röttingen it was possible to train in the hall again from July when other municipalities had not yet opened their facilities.

The test games and tournaments of the past weeks against numerous higher-class teams, including the regional league clubs Bad Windsheim and Dinkelsbühl, also provided hope. Most recently, Röttingen was able to stand up to the third division team from Eibelstadt in a friendly match and deliver volleyball as a sport over long distances.

Coach Oswald Gehringer is looking forward to the first competition against SC Memmelsdorf (7 p.m.) with anticipation. “We are more effective with serves and combinations than we were a year ago. We will score. Now we have to stabilize the block defense area, defend opposing actions better and counterattack them,” Gehringer is quoted in the message.

The Röttinger squad has hardly changed since the previous season. At just 22 years of age, the team in the league still has the youngest average age. With Leon Nast from Bieberehren, one player left the team and moved to the third division for TSV Eibelstadt. For him, Leon Wunderlich from Röttinger will move up into the squad as a middle blocker.
